So Rylee a/k/a Sprout decided to come four and a half weeks early! After going to the hospital at midnight last night to confirm that Diane’s water had indeed broken (and had actually started leaking on Wednesday), Diane was given drugs around 2am to start the dilation process.
When I got back to the hospital around 9am this morning, Diane was about 4cm dilated and started on pitocin to induce labor. By 11:15am or thereabouts (I lost track of the time), Diane was was confirmed 6cm dilated and it just started snowballing from there. Next thing I knew hair could be seen, Diane started pushing, and minutes after that, Rylee had joined the world. It was incredible.
Both sets of grandparents were visiting all day. I’ve sorted through some of the hundred of so pictures I took (not to mention the hundreds that the grandparents took) and uploaded them to our photo album.
More details in the days ahead, but for now I’m going to bed. More pictures…

Oh my - she is so beautiful, and very competitive. She wanted to beat baby boy Balmer, and she surely did.

Wow! We go on vacation and you have a month to go, and we come home today to this wonderful news. Rylee is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to meet her. This is so exciting! You have a beautiful, amazing little girl!

Congratulations, Bill and Diane! Rylee, what a wonderful Mother’s day present you gave to your Mom by coming early! Bill and Diane, this is the hardest job you will ever have, but also the most rewarding-cherish her everyday! They grow up so fast! Enjoy all the “firsts” that you have with her-she’s beautiful! Brady and Charlie are already fighting over who is gonna date her first!
